The root of CBD discovery often stems from physical discomfort and the desire to seek relief from daily ailments like stress, anxiety, and physical aches. After intensive spinal injuries and negative experiences with prescription pain medication, Gabe Kennedy and Hudson Gaines-Ross connected over their similar their injuries and, in 2017, founded Plant People in New York City.
Gabe, a former chef and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, has earned accolades from some of the most notable names in the culinary world. In 2015, he won the late Anthony Bourdain's cooking competition show, The Taste, and served as Visiting Executive Chef at Bon Appetit magazine. Today, Gabe is the Director of Culinary and Innovation for NYC’s The Little Beet and co-founder of Plant People alongside his partner, Hudson.
The Plant People process originates with conscious sourcing of US farmed ingredients, particularly industrial hemp from Colorado, and the formulation of complimentary cannabinoids, terpenes, and phytonutrients. The entrepreneurial pair worked tirelessly to create cost-effective, plant-based healing products that were non-addictive and devoid of the side effects that come with prescription drugs. Over the last two years, they developed a concise and focused menu of chef-crafted products that are vegan, organic, non GMO, non-psychoactive, and lab tested.
Rich, fragrant, and loaded with natural anti-inflammatory properties, Plant People’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil is organic, grown locally in California, and loaded with healthy fats. We love this product for its versatility - as it can be used on salads and in smoothies or enjoyed simply on its own on a piece of bread - and for its incredibly balanced health benefits. 200mg of organic CBD reduces stress and anxiety and enhances immunity, while the olive oil nourishes with antioxidants and aids in digestion.
Plant People is a fusion of passion, health, and getting back in touch with nature - because we deserve to feel great, naturally. Check back for CBD recipes and tips and learn more about Plant People here.
